Support for pattern overlays

Following up on our discussion, it would be great if we could use shapes to draw patterns in an effective way (doesn't require drawing thousands of lines or triangles). I want to be able to draw a polygon, specify vertices or points and have it draw as a wireframe so that players can look at the grid during runtime.
